Dear Mrs Moodley

Dear Mrs Moodley and  room 6

Thank you for letting us come to your school to socialise. It was  fun to meeting and conversing with you.

I really enjoyed learning how to play the ukulele. Room 6 you are really good teachers and I got to learn a lot about the ukulele in a short time. Mrs Moodley is a really cool teacher I even thought she was Mrs Ramkolowan”s sister.

I would once again love to thank you  for inviting us. It was a pity we had to leave so fast but it was a really cool day and it was even better because it didn’t rain and you were really welcoming.

Yours sincerely

Netbook Reflection 2012...

In Room 11 the children have had netbook's for two terms. The netbook has made learning a lot easier.
If you make a mistake it fixes it up straight away and if you learn something you could always share it with your friends or put it on the Blog and it helps me realise that I made a mistake.

On the netbook's it has been a good learning sensation because I can learn more stuff off the Internet. For example if I don't understand something or can't pronounce it then I can search it on the web and it also makes stuff faster. Sometimes when I need the Internet to go online to do my work the Internet connection stuffs up and doesn't work or if something disturbs me like annoying pop ups or games then it distracts me from learning.

Sometimes when the children have to do their maths work they go on unrequired sites and they go of task and they get addicted to the netbook and can't take your eyes of the screen and don't learn anything . The interesting thing about having a netbook is that I can make new friends online or learn about other people's blog's and its good to talk with your friends then rather ignore them and waste time on my netbook I love my netbook and I would like to find out other things that I don't know so I can learn while I still can with my netbook and I would love to take it home some day that would be really awesome and I love learning on my netbook it makes things so fun for me.

Food and culture

Walt:write a report.

Food and Culture.

The Pacific Islanders eat taro. It can be planted anywhere. It can be grown on mountains and close to the sea.
Taro is a root vegetable that grows well in a humid climate.  It  also grows in the Pacific Islands  in mushy soil. The islanders eat taro because it is very high in calories and it fills them up. Taro came from Hawaii when the pacific nations came on a canoe. Taro is really good for babies. It can be used for baby food.

For many years kumara has been a New zealand favourite because it can be used in a boil up and a hangi. New zealand has an ideal climate (warm) that kumara needs to grow in. Kumara was brought to new Zealand  from central South America. New Zealand kumara needs to have dry soil. Early Maori settlers came from South America. Kumara is high in carbohydrates.

Kumara and taro have one very huge thing in common. Its that everyone likes them.

Message to Val

Val, to me you are an inspiration. You are a huge role model to everyone. There is no need to be sad because at Glen Innes School you are still a star. You encourage everyone to be like you. You are very good at shot put so there is  no need to give up on your dreams.

A huge thanks..

Dear Parents

Thank you so much for spending  all your money on me for the netbook. It really will help me learn a lot in maths, reading and writing.

Having a netbook will really help me learn my maths because if I don’t get something I can search it up. Now I have my netbook I can learn my 4, 6, 7 and 8 times tables. It is a lot easier than it used to be. I can also search up games like fraction games or division games to help learn a lot.

Reading is a lot easier as well because I can read online stories and   play reading games. The netbook has a lot of amazing reading games on it and I play some of them to correct my reading comprehension.

Now that we have our netbook we can write on google docs or word. We don’t have to use our books anymore so having a netbook is really wonderful.

I promise that I will always look after my netbook and never break it and be responsible. I am really grateful  that you brought  me one and I will always listen to you.

Your child
